Out from Under

‘Tis the season – protect them with Merial Frontline Plus Flea and Tick Control for Dogs and Puppies

Would you believe Ella and I have been in the witness protection program for the past several months and were “forced” to move to Brazil to ensure our safety?  And therefore it’s not momma’s fault that she stopped posting on the blog?

Ok, fine.

We haven’t been living a Law & Order episode, or basking in the sun in South America. We’ve been right here in NYC muddling through the harsh winter and crappy economy together, and frankly momma has just been too pooped to post.

But with the coming of spring, we’re trying to emerge from the depths of our Seasonal Affective Disorder and get back into the swing of things.

The biggest event that occured while we were underground was Ella’s 1st birthday!  Being a dog, the only thing she was concerned about was whether this meant she’d get a special treat.  Naturally she did get the biggest dog cookie I have ever seen (given to us for free by the very nice people at Calling All Pets on E 76th Street).  Being a doting furmother interested in showing off how cute Ella is to everyone I know, all I cared about was that there were sufficient photo opportunities.  In the end, we were both satisfied.

The only downside to the day for Ella was the hat.  Oh how she hated that hat.  And oh how hard it was for momma to try to get a shot of her wearing it.  Though she tried to run off with it and shred it into oblivion, I managed to rescue it and hang onto it as a keepsake.  It still sits perched atop my bookshelf though, and from time to time Ella climbs up on top of the couch barking at to come down so she can destroy it.  Yeah, I could put it away – but what fun is it having a dog if you can’t tease them for your own entertainment ;-)

I'm One! And so cute!

Ella's First Birthday

I'm a big girl now. I must act more distinguished and proper.

Ella's First Birthday

Aw, who am I kidding. I'm still just a happy-go-lucky puppy!

Ella's First Birthday

Ok ma - you get one more shot and then this hat is a goner.

Several more catch-up posts and a blog design update to follow shortly!
